This morning, Linz emailed me about an “aha” moment she experienced in her yoga practice, and I felt inclined to ask her if I could share it on my blog. She gladly said yes, and so the below passage is in the voice of Lindsay and her wonderful yoga teacher.
I wanted to share with you something my yoga instructor said this morning that stuck with me. First off, she’s rad. She’s like CRAZY good at yoga (former dancer), AND super smart. She likes to demystify terms mentioned in yoga (her way of being creative in her own mind) – so today she said something like this:
“….a lot of time you hear yoga instructors talk about creating space in your body. What does that mean? You leave in the same body, the same vessel, but you have more space [insert like a minutes of talking about that – super interesting when you think about it]. And you can create space in your mind. Think about that. You see super busy people who create space in their mind — they find a balance — they find time for themselves, and others, work, play, and downtime …then there are sad people who really DO have plenty of time for all that, but their minds are 100% shut down, zero space….”
This is how I remember it, however it was way more eloquent in the moment. Between these ears, I though “OKAY…. RIGHT?!?!?!?!?” And the busy person with “space” in their mind is not like a top spinning, going into exhaustion. Definitely made me THINK! All thoughts are welcome…
